These Terms of Service apply to the public website, network tools, guides, and documented public endpoints at MyIP.dog. By using the service, you agree to use it under these terms and applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The website is intended to help explain network observations and perform practical troubleshooting. It is not a substitute for managing your network responsibly or obtaining appropriate professional assistance for a critical system.
The current public tools are available without an account or paid subscription. The website does not require you to purchase a plan to see your public IP address. These Terms of Service do not create a subscription, payment obligation, or entitlement to a future product. Features described in research, planning material, or a preview are not a promise that the capability is available in the released service.
A public IP result reports the address observed by the named destination for a particular connection at a particular time. It can belong to a VPN, proxy, gateway, carrier, or shared network. It does not verify a person's identity, device ownership, or exact physical position. Location information is approximate and may be incomplete or incorrect. An organization named in a registry record may differ from the retail provider you recognize.
Results from different tools answer different questions. DNS records describe responses from a resolver. Registration records describe allocations or registrations. ASN information describes a source's routing or registration observations. A successful connection test does not establish that an application is correctly configured or safe. A failed connection does not establish that every user or network will experience the same failure. You must consider the source, timestamp, protocol, destination, and stated scope before acting on a result.
These Terms of Service do not promise complete detection of VPNs, proxies, leaks, abuse, fraud, or threats. Missing data must not be interpreted as a clean bill of health. Preview features and unavailable measurements should not be used as completed security checks. If you are making a decision that affects availability, security, access, money, or another person's rights, verify the relevant evidence independently and obtain qualified assistance where appropriate.
Only test destinations you own, administer, or have permission to test. Permission to open a public webpage does not automatically grant permission to run every type of diagnostic against its infrastructure. Follow the destination operator's rules and the conditions of any network you use. For an employer, school, hosting account, or customer environment, ensure the person responsible for that environment has authorized the activity.
You must not use the service to attempt unauthorized access, exploit vulnerabilities, disrupt systems, send abusive traffic, evade access controls, harass people, or support unlawful surveillance. Do not use results to claim that a specific person is responsible for activity solely because an address appears in a record. Shared and changing addresses make such conclusions particularly unreliable. Do not submit credentials, confidential internal destinations, or unrelated personal information into public diagnostic tools.
The service validates supported public destinations and rejects certain private, reserved, or special-use inputs for remote operations. It also limits input sizes, simultaneous operations, and request rates. You must not bypass those limits, rotate identities to defeat them, automate abusive workloads, or use the service as a general-purpose proxy. A request rejected by a validation rule is not an invitation to disguise the same destination in another representation.
Some operations depend on third-party services, including Cloudflare, ipify, Google Public DNS, IANA and RDAP registries, RIPEstat, OpenFreeMap, and Globalping. The relevant tool or data sources page identifies the source. A provider can restrict access, change its data, apply quotas, or become unavailable. We cannot guarantee the continued availability, accuracy, policies, or response time of a service operated by another organization.
Remote ping and traceroute results come from measurement probes, not directly from your browser's local network interface. A port check runs from the service's available runtime, which may impose its own connection restrictions. Speed tests depend on the test server, browser, route, device, and concurrent traffic. They can transfer a significant amount of generated data. You are responsible for understanding any metered-data charges or usage restrictions imposed by your network provider before starting a test.
Map data and other external resources have their own attribution and license requirements. The map's appearance does not make an approximate IP location precise. References and links are provided to help you assess evidence; their inclusion does not imply endorsement of every statement or practice on an external website. Your use of an external service may also be governed by that provider's terms.
Subnet and CIDR results are mathematical transformations of the supplied addresses and prefixes. They do not inspect devices, reserve addresses, configure routing, or change firewall rules. You remain responsible for reviewing a proposed configuration before applying it. In particular, a valid mathematical range may still be unsuitable for a particular network, security policy, or operating system.
Copy and export actions help you transfer selected output. Review the content before posting it publicly or sending it to another person. Diagnostic output can disclose addresses, hostnames, providers, approximate locations, or information about a network's structure. A hide control masks information in the interface; it does not erase the underlying network observation or change what an external service previously received. See the Privacy Policy for the corresponding data-flow explanation.
You may link to the website and refer to its explanatory material with appropriate attribution. Do not misrepresent our content or results as an independent certification, guaranteed threat assessment, or official statement from a registry or network operator. Rights in third-party datasets, software, trademarks, and records remain with their respective holders. Any reuse must respect the licenses and rights that apply to the particular material.
The documented public IP endpoints are provided for reasonable, lightweight integrations. Use the documented response contract, handle error responses, apply sensible retry delays, and avoid caching personalized results as if they described every visitor. An address returned to your server generally describes that server's connection; forwarding the result to a user does not turn it into an observation of the user's browser connection.
The free service has no contractual uptime, response-time, or capacity guarantee. We may adjust features, limits, validation rules, providers, or availability to maintain the service or address abuse. Access may be restricted when requests are excessive, unauthorized, or harmful. Temporary failures and partial results are possible. Do not make the service the sole dependency for emergency response, critical infrastructure, or an essential access-control decision.
The service and its informational content are provided as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant that every result is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for a particular purpose. You are responsible for the actions you take based on the information and for verifying changes before applying them to production systems. Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
We may update these Terms of Service as the website changes. The update date identifies the currently published version. Review the terms when using a new feature, especially one with different providers or data flows. Continued use of a changed service is subject to its published terms, without limiting any notice or other rights required by applicable law. Information about the site's purpose and scope is available on About; the operator's direct contact details are being finalized for this launch.
